Induction Year: 2015
2004 Graduate

Luke Frieberg was a two sport athlete who helped lead the Warriors in reaching the state tournament in both basketball and soccer during his high school career. As the starting point guard of the Warrior Basketball Team his senior year, the Warriors earned their first state tournament appearance since 1980. But it was on the soccer field that Luke had the greatest program impact as well as individual and team success. In 2004 the Norwalk Soccer Program qualified for the State Soccer Tournament for the first time in school history as they finished as runner up champions and Luke was named to the all-tournament team. He was a 1st Team All-State selection in both his junior and senior year and was named the most outstanding male soccer player in the state of Iowa in all classes his senior year. He still holds the school records in goals scored with 75 and in assists with 41. Following his high school career, Luke took his soccer talents to Drake University where he played four years for the Bulldogs and was named as a captain his senior year. In addition, Luke played for the Des Moines Menace from 2005 to 2007 winning a national championship and delivering the game winning PK in the championship shootout. Although his high school and college soccer career is over, Luke continues to give back and assist in developing the high school program by volunteering his time to coach in the Norwalk Soccer Club as well as select teams that are comprised of up and coming Norwalk Soccer players.
