Keith Bell

Boys Track & Field • Wrestling • Football
Induction Year: 2021

Our second hall of fame inductee is Keith Bell. He is a 1968 graduate of Norwalk High School and was a multi-sport athlete earning a varsity letter while participating in wrestling and earned four letters in football and four letters in track. Keith was a major contributor to the Warrior Football Program but it was in track & field that Keith became arguably the most accomplished sprinter in the history of Norwalk Boys Track. During his junior year Keith became Norwalk’s first individual state champion as he won the Class 3A 100 yard dash and then in his senior year he added on to that accomplishment by winning the 50 yard indoor dash championship and once again claimed the 100 yard dash at the state outdoor track meet as well as the 200 yard dash championship. Keith’s individual accomplishment contributed to an overall 3rd place finish as a team in 1968. Following his accomplished high school career, Keith went on to compete at the collegiate level attending Centerville Community College for one year before transferring to Loras for his final three years. At Loras Keith qualified for the NAIA national meet in both the 100 yard dash and the 440 yard relay, holding the school record in both of those events. In 2016 Keith competed in the Iowa Games and finished 1st in the 100 and 200 meter dash in his age group. Following his graduation from Loras, Keith taught Special Education for 28 years and in 2003 earned his Masters Degree in Orientation and Mobility to work with the travel skills for those students with visual impairment and blindness. Keith has been married to his wife Meril for 46 years and they have a son David and his wife Ambers along with grandsons Joshua, Hayden, and Kamdin.

Warrior Fans, help me in congratulating 1968 Norwalk Graduate and now Norwalk Athletic Hall of Famer, Keith Bell.
