Alex is a 2009 graduate of Norwalk High School. Alex was a two sport athlete earning six letters during his career in both baseball and basketball. As a freshman for the Warrior Baseball Team he had a walk off hit in 2006 in the substate game to qualify the Warriors for the State Baseball Tournament that summer But it was on the basketball court that his athletic career would lead the Warriors to unprecedented success up to that time in school history. Alex was a three time 1st Team all Little Hawkeye Conference selection and would lead the Warriors to a conference championship as well as the Warriors fourth Class 3A state tournament berth his senior year. The 2009 state tournament would result in a program first as the Warriors finished as Runner-Up state champions falling to Sioux City Heelan in the championship game. Alex’s state tournament performance earned him a selection on the All-Tournament Team and Norwalk finished with a season ending 24-3 record. Alex was a 2nd Team All-State selection his junior year and a 1st Team selection his senior year when he averaged 21.9 points and 9 rebounds a game. He completed his high school career as the Warriors all-time leading scorer in school history with 1,380 points which would stand until 2018. Alex would continue his career at Iowa State for one year before transferring to the University of Mary in North Dakota. Following his college career Alex would play professionally in England for three years earning Finals MVP honors as well as player of the year honors in the English Basketball League. Today, Alex is the Vice President of People Evolution at Reality-Based Leadership and serves as a motivational speaker. He resides in Omaha, Nebraska with his wife Ana and son Archie.
